The 58-year-old former heavyweight champion reportedly felt unwell due to an ulcer flare-up approximately 30 minutes before the plane was set to land on Sunday, as disclosed by his publicist’s office in a statement.

Fortunately, Tyson’s spokesperson assured the public that he is now in stable condition, expressing gratitude to the medical personnel who promptly attended to him during the incident.

Upon the aircraft’s arrival at Los Angeles International Airport, first responders were dispatched to American Airlines Flight 1815 from Miami, responding to the urgent medical needs of a passenger, as confirmed by a statement from the airline.

This incident comes as Tyson gears up for a highly anticipated bout against 27-year-old Jake Paul, the YouTube sensation turned professional boxer. The scheduled match, slated for the 20th of July, is set to take place at the illustrious venue of the Dallas Cowboys’ 80,000-seat stadium.

Despite his retirement from professional boxing in 2005, Tyson has continued to make occasional returns to the ring. In 2020, he engaged in an exhibition match against fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in California.
